Job Description

We are looking for the right person to join our team as a skilled horticulture worker. 

Responsibilities:

  •  Assist with farm activities in all weather conditions, such as:
  •  Associated irrigation installation, maintenance, and repairs.
  •  planting and weed prevention of crops
  •  digging holes manually and using equipment
  •  spraying and recording in spray diaries
  •  following work instructions
  •  Maintaining records as directed in relation to QA and safety.
  •  Operation of farm equipment upon completion of training.
  •  Assist with crop watering and visual check/inspections as required.
  •  Ensure tools and equipment are maintained to a high standard and report any breakdowns to management immediately.
  •  Perform any other reasonable farm duties not listed here, as requested by the management

Requirements:

  •  Chem Cert; Forklift and MR license (essential), or have the ability to obtain
  •  Basic knowledge of horticulture
  •  Knowledge/experience with irrigation and plant nutrition
  •  Ability to operate pumps and irrigation systems
  •  Ability to operate John Deere GPS systems or a passion to learn
  •  work unrestricted after-hours during the summer to operate the irrigation
  •  Ability to work independently
  •  Computer literacy
  • Reliable and logical thinker with a willingness to learn
