Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and responsible Residential Care Officer to support residents in a safe, caring, and structured living environment. The role includes supervising daily activities, providing personal care, assisting with routines, documenting progress, and promoting residents’ wellbeing and independence.
 
 Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care and supervision of residents
  • Assist with personal care tasks (hygiene, meals, dressing, medication reminders, etc.)
  • Support residents in daily routines, appointments, recreation, and community access
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment
  • Manage behavioral or emotional needs with patience and care
  • Maintain accurate records: incident reports, progress notes, care plans, etc.
  • Communicate with families, healthcare staff, social workers, or support coordinators
  • Assist in meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and facility duties
  • Encourage independence, skill-building, and emotional support for residents
  • Follow all care policies, safety guidelines, and organizational procedures

 Skills & Requirements
  • Experience in aged care, disability care, youth care, or residential support (preferred)
  • Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Community Services, Disability, or equivalent (may be required depending on country)
  • First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude
  • Ability to handle emergency or challenging situations calmly
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, or sleepovers (if required)
  • Valid police check / working with children check / NDIS clearance (based on industry)
