We are looking for a compassionate and responsible Residential Care Officer to support residents in a safe, caring, and structured living environment. The role includes supervising daily activities, providing personal care, assisting with routines, documenting progress, and promoting residents’ wellbeing and independence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day care and supervision of residents
Assist with personal care tasks (hygiene, meals, dressing, medication reminders, etc.)
Support residents in daily routines, appointments, recreation, and community access
Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment
Manage behavioral or emotional needs with patience and care
Maintain accurate records: incident reports, progress notes, care plans, etc.
Communicate with families, healthcare staff, social workers, or support coordinators
Assist in meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and facility duties
Encourage independence, skill-building, and emotional support for residents
Follow all care policies, safety guidelines, and organizational procedures
Skills & Requirements
Experience in aged care, disability care, youth care, or residential support (preferred)
Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Community Services, Disability, or equivalent (may be required depending on country)
First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude
Ability to handle emergency or challenging situations calmly
Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, or sleepovers (if required)
Valid police check / working with children check / NDIS clearance (based on industry)
