Job Description

DIG TRADES GROUP PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and reliable Metal Fabricator to join its team in Lara, Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, welding, and finishing metal components according to technical drawings, specifications, and work orders. The role includes operating fabrication machinery, ensuring dimensional accuracy, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, and working safely to meet required project timelines and workplace standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine fabrication requirements
Measure, mark out, cut, shape, and form metal components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Set up and operate machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, rollers, and cutting equipment
Weld, bolt, rivet, or otherwise join metal parts and assemblies to specification
Fit and assemble fabricated components, checking alignment and dimensional accuracy
Perform quality checks on finished work, identifying and rectifying defects
Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in accordance with workplace safety standards
Liaise with supervisors and other trades to ensure fabrication work meets project timelines
Maintain accurate job records and report on work completed
