Job Description

Tasks & Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Indian dishes in line with established recipes and quality standards
Assist with menu preparation and support daily kitchen operations
Prepare ingredients, including cutting, marinating, and seasoning meats, seafood, and vegetables
Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation at all times
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness
Conduct stock checks and assist with ordering kitchen supplies as required
Minimise food wastage and support effective cost control measures
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations
Manage food preparation, portion control, and presentation standards
Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance, training, and ongoing support

Qualifications and Experience

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a minimum of 1–2 years relevant work experience
Proven experience in preparing authentic Indian cuisine is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Excellent time management and teamwork skills
High standards of personal presentation and commitment to kitchen cleanliness
