TURBOTECH AUTO REPAIR PTY LTD is looking for a skilled and dependable Motor Mechanic to join its automotive repair workshop in Bayswater, WA. This is a suitable opportunity for a hands-on automotive professional with experience in vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics and general workshop operations.
Duties
- Plan repair and maintenance procedures using technical manuals, charts and practical experience.
- Raise vehicles safely using hydraulic jacks or hoists to access mechanical components.
- Remove mechanical units such as engines, transmissions and differentials using suitable tools and hoisting equipment.
- Disassemble mechanical components and inspect parts for wear using micrometers, calipers and thickness gauges.
- Repair or replace worn or faulty parts, including pistons, rods, gears, valves and bearings.
- Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps.
- Repair and rewire ignition systems, lights and instrument panels.
- Adjust brakes, align front ends, replace shock absorbers and repair radiator leaks.
- Repair damaged body parts and fenders by filling dents, welding broken parts and carrying out related repair work.
- Replace and adjust headlights, and install or repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience in the automotive field is preferred.
- Certificate III and Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
