Gclass Carpenters Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Carpenter to join our team in Wollert, VIC. The successful candidate will undertake a range of residential carpentry and construction activities, including framing, structural work, installation, repairs and finishing.
This is a full-time position offering an annual salary of $80,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications to determine materials, measurements and installation requirements.
- Select, order and prepare timber and other construction materials required for carpentry works.
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber and building materials accurately according to project specifications.
- Construct and erect wall frames, roof framing and other structural timber components.
- Install sub-flooring, floorboards and structural flooring while ensuring alignment and structural accuracy.
- Assemble prepared timber components to construct and install residential building structures.
- Install doors, windows, fixtures, fittings, cabinetry, trims and other timber components.
- Construct and install concrete formwork where required.
- Repair, replace and maintain existing timber structures, fixtures and fittings.
- Work with timber, plastic laminates and other materials commonly used in residential construction.
- Safely operate and maintain carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.
- Check completed work for accuracy, level, alignment and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while following workplace health and safety procedures.
The Requirements
- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent trade qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant carpentry experience in residential or general construction.
- Demonstrated experience in framing, roof framing, flooring, installation and finishing works.
- Ability to read and understand building plans, drawings, measurements and specifications.
- Strong skills in measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and installing timber components.
- Experience using carpentry tools including circular saws, drills, reciprocating saws, framing squares, chisels and other hand and power tools.
- Good understanding of residential construction methods and carpentry practices.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements within construction environments.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a construction team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Good communication, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, organised and capable of completing assigned carpentry works within required project timelines.
