Palm Resources Pty Ltd trading as Palm Auto Body Works is seeking a skilled and motivated Panel Beater to join our professional automotive repair team. The role involves repairing damaged vehicle bodies, restoring vehicles to manufacturer specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced workshop environment using modern equipment and industry-leading repair techniques.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Repair damaged vehicle panels, frames, and body components using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Remove dents, straighten damaged panels, and restore vehicle bodies to manufacturer specifications.
- Replace damaged body panels, doors, guards, and structural components as required.
- Carry out welding, filing, grinding, and metal finishing work to a high standard.
- Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Work from repair orders, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing and coordinate with spray painters as required.
- Ensure all repair work complies with workplace safety and quality standards.
- Maintain workshop equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Assist with managing materials and workshop inventory.
- Minimise material wastage and contribute to cost-control initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with other workshop staff to ensure the timely completion of repairs.
- Train and support apprentice panel beaters and junior workshop staff where required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or an equivalent trade qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Panel Beater, Vehicle Body Repairer, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair techniques and automotive construction.
- Experience using welding, measuring, straightening, and metal finishing equipment.
- Ability to interpret repair specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A current driver's licence is preferred.
- Full Australian work rights are preferred.
