Responsibilities:
- Assist with farm activities in all weather conditions, such as:
- Associated irrigation installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- planting and weed prevention of crops
- digging holes manually and using equipment
- spraying and recording in spray diaries
- following work instructions
- Maintaining records as directed in relation to QA and safety.
- Operation of farm equipment upon completion of training.
- Assist with crop watering and visual check/inspections as required.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained to a high standard and report any breakdowns to management immediately.
- Perform any other reasonable farm duties not listed here, as requested by the management
Requirements:
- Chem Cert; Forklift and MR license (essential), or have the ability to obtain
- Basic knowledge of horticulture
- Knowledge/experience with irrigation and plant nutrition
- Ability to operate pumps and irrigation systems
- Ability to operate John Deere GPS systems or a passion to learn
- work unrestricted after-hours during the summer to operate the irrigation
- Ability to work independently
- Computer literacy
- Reliable and logical thinker with a willingness to learn
